“Save your favourite film images”

by Nick Mead

Have you ever wanted to save your favourite film image and use it on your desktop? iMeXoR can help you do exactly that by extracting and displaying images of MPEG, AVI and WMV files.
The interface is remarkably easy. In the left part you can previsualise the video and on the right you can select exactly where you want to save the image you've chosen. Beneath this, there are progress bars - much like you get on a video editor - where you can mark the start and end of the capture. Simply click "Begin" to start and in a few seconds, you'll have your image saved on the hard drive.

The only problems you might have are with your codecs. If you have too many codecs installed, the previsual image might not run properly. It's also a shame you can't save images from DivX since most of my films are in this format. It would also help if the output image was in the smaller JPG format although this can be solved with a converter. Nevertheless, you should have plenty of fun selecting your favourite film scenes with this.
